IOWA STATE ATHLETIC TRAINING WELCOMES NEW GA ATHLETIC TRAINERS
We would like to welcome two new graduate assistant athletic trainers that will begin their appointments with Iowa State University Athletic Training today.
Alex Vick and Meaghan Hussey will begin working as graduate assistant athletic trainers with ISU Athletics today.
Alex was born in Juneau, Alaska where both his parents and older brother still live today. Alex attended the University of Nevada - Reno where he received his Bachelors degree in Health Ecology and was a cheerleader. He was introduced to athletic training in between his 2nd and 3rd year at UNR when he became a voluntary student intern with the sports medicine department. Alex went on to get his Masters degree in athletic training at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. It was at UNO that Alex also decided that he wanted to stick closer to the educational aspect of AT; mainly being a preceptor while working at the collegiate level. Alex will be working with the Iowa State Softball team and Cheer Squads.
Meaghan Hussey is a recent Louisiana State University graduate and will begin a two year graduate assistantship working with Iowa State Football this fall. During her time at LSU, Meaghan earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training. She gained valuable clinical experience working with several of the tiger athletic teams; including, track and field, cross country, women’s basketball, and football. Meaghan was raised in Roswell, Georgia, with parents Donna and Stephen, and she has two younger brothers, Greg and Evan.
