Dear Visiting Team Athletic Trainer,

On behalf of Iowa State University Athletics and Iowa State Sports Medicine, we would like to welcome you and your team to Ames and the campus of Iowa State University.  We look forward to hosting you at our upcoming event.

 

COVID-19 has played a large role in collegiate athletics the last two years and please know that Iowa State University will employ current CDC, State of Iowa, and Big 12 Conference protocols and mitigation strategies during our upcoming competition to make this event as safe as possible for all participants and staff.  All pre-contest testing will be done per NCAA and Big 12 guidelines.

In this link, you will find contact information for our staff athletic trainers, team physicians and local medical facilitates including clinics and hospitals. There is also local Ames pharmacy information in this link in addition to a convenient location very near the Des Moines airport.

ATHLETIC TRAINING / SPORTS MEDICINE VISITING TEAM INFORMATION

The following services will be available to you and your team during your trip:

  • Certified Athletic Trainer on-site

  • Sports Medicine Physician and EMS on-site for Football, Soccer & events at Hilton Coliseum (on-call for other sports)

  • Basic Emergency Equipment (AED, splints, crutches)

  • Athletic Training Student assistance as needed

  • Access to Athletic Training Facilities upon request on the day of practices and competitions

 

If you have any questions, special needs, or will be traveling without an athletic trainer please call or e-mail the staff athletic trainer with your corresponding sport.  We wish you safe travels on your trip to Ames!
