Professional Information
Michael Montgomery joins the Iowa State Sports Medicine Staff for a second time in January 2026 as the Director of Sports Medicine overseeing the healthcare and well-being of ISU Football. Most recently, Montgomery was an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA. Prior to his sixth-season stint with the Pelicans, Michael served as an Assistant Director of Athletic Training at Iowa State with Football (2018-2020). Additionally, Montgomery also served as a Seasonal Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Kansas City Chiefs (2016-2018).
