Professional Information

Joe Resendez was promoted to Director of Sports Medicine for Iowa State Football following working as the Head Athletic Trainer in the XFL/UFL San Antonio. Joe brings a depth of experience in athletic training, manual therapy, strength and conditioning, sports science and restorative therapies in a results-driven, evidence-based approach that empowers his student-athletes to achieve peak performance. He has previously worked with several reputable organizations including: Slamball, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Clippers and the Rio Grande Viper-Houston Rockets prior to leading the Football Athletic Training Staff at ISU. As a leader in our department, Joe is committed to maximizing injury prevention, performance optimization, and effective recovery by utilizing advanced techniques and cutting edge technology.
